Premier League 2022/2023 standings Updated
The classification of the Premier League is governed by the following rules based on the position in which the teams finish at the end of the 38 days of the English league.
The team that finishes in the first position will be proclaimed champion of the English league. In the event of a tie-in point, the tie will be broken by the particular goal difference in direct confrontations. If the tie persists, the overall goal difference will be applied, and then the team that has scored the most goals.
UEFA Champions League places
The teams that finish in the top four (1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th) will play in the group stage of the next edition of the Champions League.
UEFA Europa League places
The teams that finish in fifth and sixth position (5th and 6th) will have a place in the next edition of the UEFA Europa League.
UEFA Conference League places
The seventh classified (7th) will play the new competition created by UEFA, the Conference League. Depending on whether the FA Cup and Carabao Cup champion is already qualified for higher-level European competitions (Europa League or Champions League) a place in the said competition will be awarded to the champion.
Relegation places to Championship
The last three teams (18th, 19th, and 20th) in the table will be automatically relegated to the English second division: Championship.
